Case Studies
Project B: Tollington Park Baptist Church, London N4
The former church comprised three buildings - one late 19th century, one early 20th century, both linked by a hall built in the early 1970's. All three buildings had maintenance problems associated with age; as a result not all of the extensive footprint was being utilised.
All three buildings were demolished and a plot of the church's land was sold to a housing association in order to generate funds for a rebuild. In addition to recovering 75% of the floor space of the former church buildings (as a result of building on different levels), the church also acquired a 3 bedroom flat.
